Introducing Two-factor authentication (2FA), a secure sign-in process that combines something you know (your password) with something you have (your mobile phone or email account) to safeguard your critical data.
A small step for you, a giant leap for your security.
MYOB is committed to safeguarding your critical data by utilising best practice security measures. Introducing Two Factor Authentication or 2FA – a secure login process to ensure that your data is protected even if your password is compromised.
2FA is the best way to enhance the safety of your data, by adding an extra layer of security that only you can control. It's a simple addition to your sign-in process – when you use your current username and password, a one-time code is sent to either your smartphone or your email address depending on what you choose during the setup process.
When does it start?
We are in the process of upgrading our MYOB Advanced clients to the latest version(2018.1.2). Once you are upgraded you'll start receiving the 2FA prompts on the MYOB Advanced login screen as well as on the home screen. It is mandatory for all MYOB users to secure their account using 2FA by December 2018, in order to comply with new industry standards. It is recommended that you set up 2FA as soon as you receive your first notification. However, MYOB would be sending you reminders until the mandatory deadline if you haven't.
How does it work?
Once you have set up 2FA for your MYOB Advanced account, its a very simple process to log in using 2FA.
If you use the same computer every day you also have an option to trust your device for 30 days, in which case you will not need to enter a second authentication factor for the 30 days.
If you have been upgraded to 2018.1.2. We recommend that you set up 2FA for your account immediately. It's quick and simple to sign up and is all done from within the software.
